Can anybody tell me what is happening with the placement of the gulf side reef. coming down on the 22nd and would like to dive it.

That has been rather silent hasn't it! I would have thought this would be front page news. Perhaps with the tourist season over with they are remaining more silent about it until the Spring. I don't dive but would like to know myself and also would love to see some video from those that do dive.

We will be there the week of the 22nd also and was wondering the exact same thing. Probably planning a trip to Destin but would love to be able to dive or snorkle closer.

Unfortunately we are still waiting. The contractor, Walters Marine, said they need a 4-5 day calm weather window before they could bring their barges from Orange Beach AL. Other than that all things are on go for the Gulf install. So we are still waiting and hoping for the timing to be right !

The Sound side reefs are in and are already attracting a lot of fish to the reef.
You can snorkel these reefs but there aren't many days when the Sound is clear enough to see the reefs.

We will be in Navarre Beach the week of Sept 22 and will definately include another kayak trip. It was a true adventure,, hahah.
