This is why we need to refuse to change lease in Navarre Beach Marine Park. These birds use the UNDEVELOPED shoreline of the park to bring home supper for the baby skimmers. Thanks Ron for great pic !

Just keep in mind - current lease (from nearly 50-years ago?) WOULD allow for a 3-story, 50'x200' metal dry boat storage building and marina (and associated development? - docks?, live-aboard?, fuel sales?, pump out?, outdoor dry boat storage?, boat launch?, parking?, traffic?).

If don't want this developed (and I do support non-development) then taxpayers need to OK taxes to buy the lease from current leaseholder. Market Value/Cost?

If not that - then, personally, I'd rather see residential than commercial.

After being referred to the Land Use Code when I expressed concern about this...... I don't know of any way to avoid future development and possible/uknown damages to all aspects of environment of SRS short of a change of some sort to that code. But.................I am a layperson with time on my hands that has seen too much of the state of my birth destroyed forever and who simply wants to see prudent caution observed in my home environment of Navarre......not a marine professional or big money property owner in the area..... just a homewnoer hoping to keep my home beautiful and intact .
