This is a very cool addition to the reef. I dove the reef back at the end of February and it looks like aside from the streaming underwater footage the base also makes a great home for a couple octopus!

I noticed what looked like lots of small barnacles attaching to the dome this last week, is the auto wiping mechanism still working? Is there anything simple local divers can do to manually clean the dome when they dive the reef to help?

Is it actually working yet?

First go was aborted because they really screwed up the installation, then some cable contacts corroded...

Got a web link to it?

Top video is a recording from a day with great visibility back in Dec. I think.

The second one is the live feed, takes a second to start, I've been checking in every few days ever since Feb. and most of the time I haven't had issue seeing the live feed.

On low vis days you can't see much, but when the vis is good you can see the two closest pods (it rotates back and forth between them) and you can see lots of fish swimming about. This morning vis is pretty stirred up because of wind, but you can see the barnacles forming on the dome.

It's working now! at 12:45 pm central time. Visibility is pretty poor and it sounds like hail pellets hitting a glass window! I could see some fish swimming by, though ... kinda like GHOST fish because of the poor visibility! LOL

I see it too. It only works for me (on a Widows 10 PC) in the Microsoft Edge browser. I NEVER use Edge, it's horrible and insecure.

I use the Chrome browser and have an add-in called "HTTPS-Everywhere" to force web sites that offer a secure connection to actually offer it on every page f they can. The camera page does not work with an HTTPS connection.

Firefox needs a plug in to display the live feed, but movies from You Tube work fine! Go Figure.

You'd be shocked at the amount of trouble we have had at work with compatibility issues on Windows 10 and some things that have been working for years that are now broken...

I knew it! Finally a professional IT person who admits it! YES, I detest Windows 10, too!! It was supposed to be the operating systems of all operating systems! I guess some people find it user friendly but it is so insecure it's scary!!!! ... it forces Edge on you unless you disable it (which I did) ... but that laptop is now on hiatus and I'm back to using the old Windows 7 laptop. Actually have had fewer security issues plus using Firefox browser is much more seamless for us non-pros to handle. This latest improvement not requiring as many plug-ins was a bit to get used to at first but better now. One problem I have is opening mp3 or 4 files sent from smartphones. I added in the plug-in suggested but it still didn't work.
