Re: Record mid-week crowd?

I love king mackerel on a po'boy; however, about a year ago, I found a Key West captain's recipe for smoked king dip that everyone I serve it to raves about. I used the spanish I caught on spring break and made the same dip and it was fantastic.

Re: Record mid-week crowd?

We were there 6/12 - 6/26, it is pretty busy down there! On our way home Saturday, except for the metro areas that have multiple lanes (Montgomery, Birmingham), we were bumper to bumper on I-65 until well past Huntsville! I was able to do some advance planning to help us out; my twin daughters didn'...

Re: Things are looking up for us Salties

Indeed.....I know SharkBite, Windjammers, and Dewey's are open, with Juana's eyeing a return to outdoor dining service on 5/18. Fishing for crappie and bluegill just doesn't quite tide me over like it used to haha.

Re: NAVARRE BEACH WILL CLOSE TODAY AT MIDNIGHT

Guys are still working on the deck, visible from the cam. Work thus far seems satisfactory. We came down a couple days early for spring break; on the way down there was a post from Navarre Press that everything would stay open as long as the "social distancing" proved compliant and manageable. My so...

Kid, those scenarios could be bleak but still beat Indiana any time of year.

Pier Conditions

Thanks to the webcam and Pier social media, great to see the new decking going down. I don't know if it was a joke or not but saw 5' x 5' sections of the old decking from the octagon were being offered on facebook marketplace LOL. What I also loved to see, though it adds to the frustration of not be...

Re: July 8-20 report

Wow! Well you got the 4 but I still would have been frustrated getting cut too! I remember in '14 on the Pier right after I caught my first Crevalle, I actually got a lazy 'cuda to bite...he immediately took me under the pier and burned my line on the concrete! Good luck in the AM! Just ordered Sam ...

Yes indeed; I follow Galveston Pier on facebook and there were a few anglers showing off their spanish yesterday! Never saw water like that when we were at Seascape last year lol.

Re: July 8-20 report

You're welcome; it was nice to get back to our "routine" 2 week-or-so summer visit. We skipped that one last year because my twin daughters were preparing to start college. Don't know how many more of these we'll all have together, so it was special for sure. My son, wife, and I did end up going to ...

July 8-20 report

The travel down: We left on Sunday the 7th about 6:30 local from NW Indiana, and I had just finished working a 12-hour shift. My wife and twins were worried about who was going to have to take over driving first, and at what time. I knew, however, that my excitement and anticipation of being back on...

Re: When is Navarre going to figure out the restaurant scene

Enjoyed my dishes at Dewey Destin, especially the homemade pimento dip and stuffed shrimp. Went to Shark Bite for first time and ended up going a few times. I'm a sucker for a burrito, especially if it has chorizo. Off to prepare PKid's trip report LOL!

Re: I feel for those arriving

Yes sir, I plan to but it was outta the frying pan and into the fire, was back here at work 9 hours after we got home and haven't had a day off since! That "Navarre Newspaper" on youtube that gives the 90 second videos of the pier each day features me with a spanish on 7-13 and Sam with a spanish on...
