Re: Navarre is changing...

Let me know when you find a place where real estate prices haven't gone up in the last 20 years and beer is still $2.50. They say 10,000 baby boomers turn 65 every day. The "silver tsunami" is coming...they all want a slice of paradise, and most are willing to pay $5 for a corona.

Re: NB Owners Question

Check out Navarre Towers (8271 Gulf Blvd), I'm in my 4th year of ownership there. We have a relatively high level of year-round residents (I'm unfortunately not one of them), and association fees and insurance are very reasonable considering the amenities: tennis, basketball, heated pool, fitness ro...

Re: New hotel lunch and lunch menus.

They're getting brutalized over at TripAdvisor: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g34468-d12572420-Reviews-Beach_House_Bar_Grill-Navarre_Florida.html I would guess their steady stream of hotel guests will keep them in business, even if quality is subpar and prices are bloated. Maybe one ...

Re: First time to Navarre

I'll sound off on a couple of these... 4. Sugar Beach is about where things start to get a little more "packed in". If you head west a few hundred feet you'll likely have plenty of room to spread out. However, the arrival of the SpringHill Suites may change that some. 5. Casino Beach Bar is probably...

Joe Maddon at NB

Baseball fans might enjoy this one - I recently read this story about Theo Epstein tracking down Joe Maddon a few years ago at Navarre Beach to recruit him to manage the Cubs: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2297391-inside-the-chicago-cubs-theft-of-joe-maddon-one-of-mlbs-best-managers It sounds l...

Re: Navarre Visit

For fresh seafood I have to put in a plug for Dave's. Dave's Oyster Bar and Grill has never disappointed for fresh seafood, and with a Gulf Breeze location, it's closer to Navarre Beach than Pensacola and with less of a touristy crowd as well. For "overall restaurant" Bella Luna gets my vote!

Re: Navarre Beach Beautification Committee quits.

Does anyone know the back story on the "damaged home in a high-profile location" referenced in this article? It's been there for as long as I've been coming to NB (2013), and it definitely doesn't give the best impression for folks coming onto the island from Pensacola.

Re: Roccos has closed!

Sorry to hear this...I will miss the spinach and artichoke dip most of all. However, I always thought an Italian restaurant on the beach seemed a bit out of place. Think we could coax Dave's Oyster Bar & Grill to open up a 2nd location or relocate to NB? That's the kind of food I crave when I'm at t...

Re: Please tell me last night was a one time thing!

I could be wrong, but from what I could tell attendance fell far below expectations. I didn't see any traffic or parking issues which many of the condos seemed to be prepared for with guards, parking attendants, caution tape, etc. This is only speculation, but I suspect someone lost their shirt in t...

Right across the street from the new Japanese restaurant (samurai) is The Slippery Mermaid. Excellent sushi, getting very high marks on trip advisor: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_R ... orida.html

Re: To be or not to be a snowbird/local/ or just stay a visi

Hello, I'm new here too...and a recent owner as of July. I've been silent, but have found this forum to be very helpful. I'll chime in with a few thoughts and lessons learned through our recent buying experience. My wife and I starting considering a purchase when we first visited NB a couple years a...
