Morning, AG. Always enjoy the beach cam. But I think it may be stuck on replay for yesterday. It's that same view this morning. Maybe it's just sleeping late. :D
Yea, I don't see the "LIVE" button?

Don't see much of a problem with any of these moves. Universities DO need to tolerate different ideas and students and faculty need to feel safe to do so, CRT is NOT about not teaching black history - it is just not teaching that skin color defines people, yes our rights are God given not government...

Since it came up - did this the other day - interesting: You know me - I like to (sometimes) crunch numbers. Got curious when recent news said a male to female transgender qualified for Olympic weightlifting under this criteria: "...since 2015, when the IOC issued new guidelines allowing any transge...

2021 Hurricaine Season

Looks like we are going to need to batten down the hatches in Navarre area the next 24-48 hours. Forecast arrival to TS-force winds Saturday AM and up to a possible 4-10 inches rain over next 3-days! Possible 1-3 feet storm surge. Have fun!

Re: VP Harris visits Guatemala and Mexico

While addressing problems in the countries of origin is a popular idea - I figure that ANY money/aid sent their way will be sucked up by the corrupt governments - and IF any does get to the masses those folks will pay it to the cartels and coyotes to facilitate travel to US. Gotta remove the incenti...

Re: 44 years ago

Yea, great memories! Ours go back to 1987-89 when I was assigned to Kessler AFB, in "Biloxi-don't-go-in-the water-Mississippi" (all one word). Would come and spend long weekends at the Holidome. Weather good = beach. Weather not so good = Holidome. Plenty for the kids, and poolside bar for adults!

Re: Can't we all just come together

This all reminds me of a quote attributed to one of our founding fathers (I think it was Jefferson - I may look it up).
The gist was that the constitution was applicable only to a God-fearing religious populous and that it was wholly inadequate if the populous was not so morally constrained .

Re: Can't we all just come together

Linda - very thoughtful. I enjoyed. I do recall - I think it was a business or econ professor and, I believe at Harvard School of Business - who had a Chinese student who informed the professor something along the lines that the US had such freedoms because so many of its citizens were those that be...

Just read a lengthy article documenting that the Obama administration, on January 9th 2017 (a few days before Trump took office), reversed a 2014 policy against "gain of function" virus research - and again allowed such research "to protect public health or national security". https://theconservativ...

Re: Wonder why the push

As libertarian - should be individual choice. Have one friend who is pretty anti-Covid vax. Sends a lot of stuff that may have some valid concerns - but like much of the fast moving pandemic - all over the place - and much speculation. I believe there is nothing (or should not be anything) that is "...

The scientific community holds to English as the prescribed language for journals. No odd curiosity that their sign is also in English.
True - same in other countries (as seen in my travels).

Re: Can anyone name one thing

Yes, many gated communities for the privileged. I saw them in abundance when we lived in Houston, early 90s. As for the nation's governmental structures I suppose it's to keep out the malcontents? And need same at border - orderly process to "keep out the malcontents"...drugs, criminals, gangs, pos...
