If you venture back over the bridge to the "mainland" of Navarre..... :) , turn right as you leave the island, stay in the righthand lane and go a smidgen further to the Navarre Bait & Tackle Store on your right. It's located in the same building as Beach Pails & Tails, a Grooming/Boarding facility....

YES! The pilings! But, like bg said....it doesn't last long. Same noise when a new residential home is getting their pilings set. In fact, I have been in homes on the island in the nearby area while that's happening and with the AC on and windows closed it sounds like a distant "tap tap tap". Just g...

Re: Fish Identification

I just went and looked at some Pomps I have in the freezer and some pics I have and Pompano look like they have a scowl on their face. Very mean! These fish I believe are yellowtails. Pompano does not have that much yellow in the tail. And, at least the one I can see in the picture looks happier ! ...

Re: Holiday Inn on Navarre Beach

The problem is SRC control and management not national politics. The local politicians are RINO's. They disregard written contract, disregard case law in Florida, disregard the state constitution on ad valorem taxes and lease fees and the federal constitution on Contracts. Local judges for 30 years...

Our flood level when our house was constructed is at 12 feet. We also have the breakaway louvers, or garage doors that stay up during the storm. You can also have drain inserts if you do not plan to open up your lower area. The electrical is 12 foot up and only one receptacle allowed inside the gar...

David, you are correct. Not only the State and County but you can't get flood insurance if you have "livable" space on the ground floor. All electrical must be raised also . We are in a VE zone here on the beach front. Flood insurance is very high. Oh yes! The electrical!! Those sky-high platforms ...

Re: Footprints?

I would recommend to them, because apparently no one did prior to the demise, that they need to start the 1st floor of the hotel, on the 2nd level and go up from there. First floor....parking only! That way, maybe sand can be avoided in the rooms and lobby when the next hurricane comes rolling in a...

Ran into some former fellow Holiday Inn NB employees the other day. Rumor has it, after The Indigo goes up on Pensacola Beach where the old Holiday Inn was, they are contemplating doing the same at Navarre Beach with that brand. (nicer upscale hotel in the same family of HI) They will utilize the ad...
