Re: Phantom over Navarre Beach!

P'kid. You can get you one from Amazon. Put on the props, charge the battery. Wify to your phone and you are get to go. My luck I would crash trying to spot pompano to cast to (Is that cheating?), and my investment would become a itty bitty fish condo. 8) :| I would bet ya that some will be using th...

Re: The slime is thick

Great Loggerhead shot! Looks like she is showing off for her audience. Kenny, Many will find it interesting that, just recently, there has been proof established that the "lost years" of the Loggerhead and other sea turtles is spent in the floating fields of sargassum grass that float in the warm cu...

Garrison, He actually works for the distributor that handles Penn and some other well known mfgs of fishing equipment. He ended up with his dream job. He is an avid fisherman and spent lots of time fishing the local pier while a lot younger than now. He and his Dad are both super people. CrazyB, Tho...

And I thought the Blue Heron perched on the rail was my favorite!

Great photo in all ways, don't think you could have gotten it better. This one goes in the book, uh?

The Snowy Egret in the video is right up there also.

Re: Hammerhead

Kenny, I felt the same and my glasses are just fine, my friend, though my memory is becoming a bit frayed around the edges, the reason I try to confirm before posting things. It just does not compute that Florida would have 12 unprovoked attacks in 92 years when the whole world had only 17 in many m...

Re: Hammerhead

Apparently 13% of Florida Shark Attacks from 1920-2012 were Hammerheads. This would be about 12 attacks over that period. https://www.flmnh.ufl.edu/fish/sharks/s ... ttacks.htm You may have viewed the colors of that graph incorrectly and what you saw was for the tiger shark with the hammerhead bein...

Re: Shark Week

Yep!

They have been found as far up the Messed-up-ippi as Memphis. Probably go up for a weekend of chasing ducks at the Peabody and then cross the street for some BBQ at The Rendezvous before returning back to the Gulf for some more fresh tanned (sun bbq'd) meat. 8)

Re: Shark Week

I agree P Kid. If I were to be concerned over sharks in our local waters, my concern would be of the bull because of the wider distribution and types of water he can be found in and his ferocious temperament compared to most other sharks. Next would be the tiger and mako because of temperament and f...

Re: Hammerhead

P'cola, you would probably win that bet but should put a time line on it. If memory serves me right, last time I saw the stats, there had only been around 30 recorded hammerhead attacks, none fatal, in the whole world in over 400 years and only about half of those were unprovoked. Bear in mind that ...

Re: My sister is there and encountered a shark

As Kenny said, "Nothing to be overly concerned about", especially with a hammerhead which are not known as a aggressive shark at all. They are more curious of their surroundings than most other sharks and will swim close to boats, piers, divers, swimmers, floating objects, just to check them out. I ...
