Just to follow up on our T-Mobile discussion of a few weeks back. We did sign up for service on a trial basis in our area back in Iowa with a company affiliated with T-Mobile. So when we are out of our home area, it is T-Mobile towers primarily and AT&T towers second that we connect to. None of the ...

Thanks for your input, LilFeat. I'd also enjoy hearing from any others with T-Mobile experience on the island in particular. Also interested in Blackberry experiences if with a GSM type provider. I should add that Home2007 also responded to my original message but via Personal Message email which wa...

Hi Home2007 I am writing for more details on your T-Mobile experience on both the island as well as nearby areas. I hope you can help. My wife and I winter at the Pearl on Gulf Blvd. We've only heard two comments on T-Mobile there. One was yours and the other was from someone who works at the Pearl ...

An excellent up-close video report, Navarrian. From the web cam shots, it wasn't clear how much damage was taking place with the surf eating away at the berm and the erosion around the walkovers. Will be interested in the assessment of damages no doubt coming over the next few days. Thanks again for...

A somewhat similar question was posted some months ago. See the link below. Perhaps an answer is there.

Super scene, Kenny! You're a water-color artist extraordinaire but with a camera for a brush!

The very last sentence in a lengthy post was the answer I was hoping for and is one of the questions I asked. "In a few years the drifting sands should cover a lot of this debris on this beautiful barrier island." If we can't make the debris go away, then perhaps it will help create some dunes. Time...

Asphalt Chunks an Eyesore - Cleanup Possible?

I've not visited since the road reopened but last winter when staying at Navarre Beach I did walk out that way several times including one walk to Opal Beach and back. At that time I was struck but the massive amount of small chunks of asphalt scattered almost everywhere one looked both north and so...

Sorry to hear that. We did not visit the restaurant when we were at Navarre Beach last winter but had a report from a fellow snowbird couple that had dined there that they were disappointed. So, rightly or wrongly, we passed based upon their "unfavorable review". Word of mouth advertising is a key f...

Any Recent News on Navarre Beach State/County Park? Photos?

It's been going on 2 months since the last update. Is the park open yet? Or still on track for June? If I recall correctly, the park was yet to be completed when we stayed at NB in January of 2004. And when we returned as snowbirds in 2006 after the hurricanes it was history. Lots of buildings there...

My favorite is the second pix, the first of the sunset photos. We left our winter quarters on Navarre Beach March 15th and I've never quite missed it as much as this year. We are already counting the days until we return on January 1st for another go at it. Some consolation is that Iowa is beautiful...

Ditto on the great Grouper Reuben at T.C.'s Front Porch. We were at NB for the winter but it was late in the season before I made it to T.C.'s for the first time. Tried the Grouper Reuben and it may have the best lunch I had my entire time south. I made it back there the day before we headed north t...

When I took my last sunrise photos the second week of March from the Beach Colony, the sun was still rising a fair distance out into the gulf. While for sometime, the sun had been setting on the island or sound. The following are photos posted earlier but illustrate a difference in the sunrise and s...

Beach Colony - Recent Photos

My wife and I left Navarre Beach at 4 AM Saturday and were back in our home in Iowa by 8:30 last evening. The good news, the snow is all gone for now at least! :D The bad news . . . we won't be back to NB for about 9 months most likely. :( We stayed at the Beach Colony East this year and I took some...
