You'll love it, Andy. I personally feel the Pearl has the nicest pool area on the island. Though maybe not the largest, it has two nice pools and one hot tub and is extremely pleasing to the eye. Here are a few photos. Great landscaping and seating areas. We loved it before the hurricanes and it loo...

See "Y'all" Next Year

One final night out for dinner (we call it supper where I come from) before Mrs. Arlo and I head north. Stopped for one last Grouper Reuben sandwich at TC's Front Porch then stopped in at the Pagoda to watch the sunset. The sunset looked promising until it slipped behind a rather thick cloud near th...

Another wonderful exposure, Kenny! Those moments ahead of the actual sunrise are so much more colorful than the actual sunrise.

Thanks for sharing.

Sunrise, Mon., March 10th

Our Condo balcony doesn't have a West view, so sunrises have been my thing to tinker with photographing this winter. Here are a few shots from this morning. http://www.postimage.org/Pq31km0.jpg http://www.postimage.org/aV7PMG9.jpg http://www.postimage.org/aV7PZ8S.jpg http://www.postimage.org/aV7Qd6J...

The sky was really redish-orange but I'm not sure if it was quite as vivid as it came out. I shot in RAW format for the first time, and am not sure if that made any difference or not. Also used the revved up exposure compensation settings Kenny suggested. Glad you liked it.

My First NB Sunset of 08

We have a wonderful sunrise view this year but can't see a sunset from our east-side wrap around location at the Beach Colony. But I was finally inspired to go down to the beach this evening to see what I might find in the way of a sunset. Thanks to an online course I'm taking and some tips from Ken...

My wife, visiting brother-in-law and his wife and I made it to the Snowbird Open House today. A very nice event! And equally enjoyable was meeting both Kenny Wilder and Johnny Angel for the first time. Both very nice gentlemen but I already knew that from being on this forum the last couple of years...

We are snowbirds and have company this week so I'm not certain that we'll make the open house. However, I'd like to offer some input from my wife and I after four years being snowbirds at Navarre Beach. As snowbirds, we find most condo units obviously more geared to the weekly or weekend short-term ...

I guessed it was a fish skeleton of some sort too but wasn't sure. Here's a pix alongside a teaspoon to show size. I brought it home with the seashells I picked up and gave it to my wife as an early Valentines Day gift. She was thrilled as you can imagine. Guess I still better pick up a box of candy...

A Great Suggestion, Navarrian!

Following Navarrian's suggestion, this afternoon I took a walk up the sound side and back the gulf side of the Gulf Islands National Seashore. Not as far as Opal Beach this first time but a GREAT outing. I've found my new favorite spot on Santa Rosa Island! Here are a few of the photos I took on my ...

Thanks for posting these great photos, Navarrian. I do wish the full-sized photos when clicked would fit my monitor screen. What distance would that have been each way? I find walking on the sand a long way more of a workout than I bargain for sometimes. I'd be in a real fix if I walked all the way ...
