Tisa, No slamming from the "kid!" Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and frankly, Destin does indeed have some very good qualities. I for one like many of the restaurants there. I think they have the best Bait and Tackle in the Panhandle (Half Hitch B&T). I love taking my daughter to the Big...

I am with ya, Lvthebch! I noticed that as well. If you look at the live cam shot and then go back and take a look at the same shot in the archives, it is incredible!

It Looks Like A Lot Of People Are There
I am with ya Angelgirl! Even living in Alabama my first ten years and having been back hundreds of times, I never until 4 weeks ago had ever been to the Alabama coast. I drove through Orange Beach and Gulf Shores on my way to Pensacola/NB. Now, although it doesn't come close to comparing to NB, the ...

That is indeed good, pertinent information about Summerwinds, thanks! As for the lawyers fighting, I hope they fight about it for the next 20-30 years. Navarre Beach does NOT need a Port Navarre. The next thing you know if they build that thing then a "cut" will be approved, then a harbor built and ...

El Nino
You are correct Tisa! Navarre and the Pensacola/Gulf Shores area needs about a 20+ year drought on hurricanes. Hey, if the Houston/Galveston area can do it, they can as well! 1983, believe it or not was the last hurricane to hit our area and that was Alicia which was a Cat 3.

El Nino
Listening to the weather channel at the moment and they are saying that El Nino has or is in the process of returning, meaning a reduction in Hurricanes. However, Dr. Steve Lyons, the Grand Poobah of the weather channel is saying that in conjunction with El Nino are more local atmospheric conditions...

It Looks Like A Lot Of People Are There
Kenny or anyone living in or at Navarre/NB....... By the webcam it appears there are a good number of people there on the island. During all my trips to Pensacola/NB after Labor Day (mainly on business) it has always been dead, dead, dead! What's up with the crowds? Well, "crowds" may be taking a bi...

Heading To Navarre The First Of October
Beachog, Glad you are going to get some time down in Navarre in October. It is a wonderful month to be there. Water is still (most of the time) comfortable enough to enjoy, the crowds are not there and it is generally a bit cooler. As for the fishing, there is generally not a better time other than ...

How Safe Are You On Navarre Beach
If it were me and it has been every summer, I would before I left home, have in hand the name of at least two doctors offices in the Navarre/Pensacola/Fort Walton area that accepts my insurance. In addition, I would have their phone numbers, addresses and directions to their office at a moments noti...

Woodman,
I know there are others on here who live in the area and could provide more up to date information but I was there on the 10th and 11th of August and it was NOT open at that time. Somewhere I heard it was going to be in November some time.
