We spent several summers in Orange Beach/Gulf Shores after the Hurricanes in Navarre. Navarre was basically being rebuilt. Once the condo was reopened we never went back to the Orange Beach/Gulf Shores area. 'nuff said!

The water in Navarre, when clear, is crystal CLEAR.

The water in Gulf Shores/Orange Beach area, when clear, is brown.

There is a big difference in what people say is clear water in some other areas as compared to Navarre. Once you see clear Navarre water, there is no going back.

Hope that helps.

lol ! and the north side :) ..... East River and bay are awesome !!!! NOT for swimming but for sight seeing and boating..........the assortment of WILDlife can't be beat :) Love boating around there....but no more crab traps lol gator got one of mine last week and toasted it !!!
RE June grass....... it comes and goes.... I haven't been around pier or beaches for a couple weeks, been in SRS and river....due to June grass a couple weeks ago. Our area has an incredible diversity of eco systems and wildlife....I hope we can care for and manage these resources wisely ONE.............
