Adult Male Drowned Yesterday at Navarre Beach

An adult male drowned yesterday at Navarre Beach. I do not know more details about this tragedy. The RED alert flags were flying yesterday at Navarre Beach because of dangerous rip currents. Stay out of the Gulf when you see the RED flags.

Navarre Fire and Rescue has a few pictures posted of the search on their Facebook page. Said they assisted in pulling 3 other people out. Thanks for the update. I wish people would heed the warnings! So sad.

Very tragic. I was at the beach on Saturday when this happened. The Gulf was very rough and I was even concerned for the surfers who seemed to be struggling.

Why anyone would risk their life and enter the water under these conditions is beyond me.

Prayers to the family of this person.

Aren't the lifeguards there to advise people to not go into the water? Maybe they need more flags closer to the beach? I don't know what the answer is ... maybe had been drinking? Perhaps other people on the beach should be more outspoken about not going into the water.
May your troubles be less, and your blessings be more, and nothing but happiness come through your door.

Very tragic for this young man and certainly for his family.

I so wish people would respect the ocean especially when the surf is high, signs and flags are posted. Seemingly, deaths do not deter people getting into the water when they should not.
