The water was significantly clearer today than last week when I shot my first video of the Gulf reef. With the increased visibility I was able to do a 'flyover' of the entire reef to give a better idea of the size/area of it and a better bird's-eye view. One continuous shot from the shallow end to the deep end and then concluding with a few clips of some critters I saw while out there.

Excellent report, Dolfn ~ looked like you and the critters pretty much had the reefs to yourselves! The little angel fish and the baby ray added a lot!

Near the end of the video, was that a broken fishing pole or what that was caught on one of the "pods"?

Thanks for sharing another adventure with us!

The middle first and middle last pod both have ropes attached to them. I think these are for anchoring dive flags/floats to, but I'm not 100% sure.

Looks like the reefs are beginning to function as intended too. Algae growing and all... Nice to see.

Thanks for the video.

Just curious, what camera do you use? Is it one of the GoPro designs or something else?

I have a dive mask with an integrated HD camera. It's the "Liquid Image Wide Angle Scuba Series Full HD 1080p model #324." Here's some info on it:

http://www.adorama.com/UWLI324.html

It has a 720p mode, a 1080p mode and a still photo mode. I like it a lot!

WOW! All integrated too. Its $400 and is on back order. The gopro surf model is $100 less but I suppose the relative lightweight and ease of use by yours being part of the goggles is what makes it? You have no bulky external mounted camera to worry about either. Nicely done.

Exactly. I used a Contour (the main competitor to GoPro) for a year and liked it ok, but since it had to be strapped to one side of my mask it was always hard to align the shots properly. I missed capturing some great sights because they would be 1/2 off the frame or even out of frame entirely if I was too close to the subject.

I love this mask. Ridiculously expensive, but so far it's been worth it.

So cool! Thank you Dolfnfan for doing this. Can not get enough! Oh...I posted a question to you on another thread about the camera you use, etc., never mind, I see you have it here. Where did you get your mask? I will probably discover that as well

Is this the one you bought and use, Dolfnfan?

Yep. That's the one. I really, really like it. I got it from Adorama.com several months ago, but it looks like they have it on backorder at the moment.
