So, last summer in lieu of Navarre (broke my heart but was able to manage 2-3 trips by myself) I took my family to California. They had never been and our goal was to do a lot of things in a short period of time with the Big Sur drive being the pinnacle. As you might know now, toward the end of that drive the mountain just gave away and that portion of the road is now in the Pacific. Up to two years before it is opened. Anyway, we did the LA scene for a day then started the drive to eventually spend three days in San Fran. Here are some of the pictures with more to come.

It's ruggedly beautiful ... but entirely different even from the beaches in Southern CA where I spent about half of my childhood.redchaz57 wrote:love these photo's as well. amazing differences in the two coast.
