Alabama stays at No. 2 in latest Amway Coaches Poll
The Alabama Crimson Tide remained in second place in the Amway Coaches Poll, which was released Sunday morning.
Alabama defeated Middle Tennessee State on Saturday afternoon by a score of 37-10, advancing to 2-0 on the season, and that win was enough to hold its spot as the No. 2 team in the country in the eyes of a panel of FBS head football coaches.
The Crimson Tide only trailed top-ranked Ohio State, who received 62 first-place votes. UA earned one first-place vote. After a rough weekend in the league, only seven teams from the SEC made appearances on the Amway Coaches Poll.
Alabama will next face No. 11 Ole Miss in Tuscaloosa on Saturday, Sept. 19. That game will kick off at 8:15 p.m. CT on ESPN.

...which is not too shabby. But I do note that two more Big-10 teams snuck onto the list...for a total of 4 (and if, on geography and traditional long time rivalries, include "in all respects but" ND = 5?).Kenny Wilder wrote: [only seven teams from the SEC made appearances on the Amway Coaches Poll.
