Good news...there are only 6 months left until college football returns.

I love college football. I am not watched a NFL game in about 10 years. I support the kids, not the thugs.

Sadly, some of the kids become some of the thugs........ :(

Last weekend and now this weekend have been a great start to college football. Love this season!

I thought FSU was going to go down to Samford/Birmingham. They rallied.

Another game that kept me on the edge of my seat and my hand on my blood pressure pills - Clemson vs Texas A&M. A&M looks great and they really wanted that win. I hope they do well as a newer team to the SEC.

Always, though, love those Clemson Tigers!

First, ROLL TIDE!

Second, I received my Master degree fro Samford University. SU has high academic standards. Now, we can add high athletic achievements. I believe had we had the same number of football players as FSU; we would have not run out of gas. Go BULLDOGS!

Love the might of the smaller schools. My son graduated from UAB and is very happy to see their program back in action.

Several friends who have Mastered at Samford - either attending evenings or online. Great school. My daughter attended Alabama State Choir events there in high school.

Go Hawkeyes! U of Iowa came out with a win (and traveling trophy) over inter-state, intra conference rival Iowa State.
On to the next. Speculation during game that whoever got the win may break in to the top 25 in rankings. Would be nice.

To me, these guys who are not in the holy of holies, SEC, , really show the true nature and appeal of the game.

For folks in/from Big Ten country - believe me, they/we do NOT consider SEC the "Holy-of-Holies" of college football!
Note that Big Ten has five teams ranked in top 25 (six if count independent Notre Dame as an "honorary" BT team as it is surrounded by Big Ten country?).

I'm guessing that Norte Dame has the best claim to be the "Holy of Holies" in college FB.
BTW - Big Ten has been doing it longer (I think). Do know that Minnesota was named national champ like 5 times in the 1930's (those big Scandinavian farm boys!)

I love to read the history of some of these teams, Pete. Friends were asking me why Clemson played Furman in their first game this season. It was the first game they ever played back in 1896!!

 Notre Dame - good one! I do love to watch them play.

Crazy times in the Clemson Tiger Den. Two great quarterbacks, then down to one first string - Tracy Lawrence. He's injured in a rough and tumble game against Syracuse. Bring on the third guy - Chase Brice. Along with him and Etienne, Clemson pulls it off! Another win.

Hyperventilation. Love football. Love those Clemson Tigers.

Congrats to all the victors. Especially Clemson.
Iowa had a bye this week - plays Minnesota next Sat - looong rivalry for "Floyd of Roseville" the "Pig" trophy.
When first started was a real pig that the governors bet each other - and were taken to court for violation of "gambling" prohibition.
Case was tossed out.
Cheers, Pete
