I found out yesterday from a friend in Navarre that Billy Bob's over in the Winn-Dixie strip center, has closed. Went out of business. I don't know how I feel about that. I had some good meals there and their cheese grits were killer! I don't like seeing any Navarre business closing but I did notice the last couple of times I was there that they only had 3-4 tables working at any given time.

You're right, P'kid, (sorta) .... that was Bayou Bob's in the Winn-Dixie center. There is a new buffet place there now called Geeley Garden. I thought it was an oriental buffet, but hear it has a mix of mediteranian, american, asian, etc. Haven't eaten there, but it's on my bucket list.

No review at this time ... maybe Pete's been there.

Billy Bob's BBQ is in Gulf Breeze, and is worth the stop if you're headed to Navarre from Pensacola!

I saw Bayou Bobs closed.. we ate there a few times.. they had a stuffed gator in the entryway, I think.. ?
Food was decent.. a little over priced, IMO..

Yes, Tracy...there was a gator in the entry area. They had a few good things. Red Beans and Rice, cheese grits, fried catfish....several things that were good. They also let that slip a few times and as I said above, the 2-4 times I was there, there was never a crowd. Not usually a good sign!

Have you ever eaten at East Bay Crabhouse? OMG the food is awesome.. the place is a tad run down but the service and food has always been great. And the owners (the wife) always hugs my girls every time we walk in

Tracy,

Yes I have...many times! I think it is very good! I am really looking forward to the Shrimp Basket though, which will be very near East Bay Crab. I thinketh it will hurt their business somewhat, at least initially!

Speaking of East Bay Crab House, does anybody know if they have outdoor seating?

Lilfeat,

Unless they have expanded since last June, they do not have outdoor seating!

Haven't - mostly do not do buffet's - too much food, and then "sample" more than I should (no self control!?) - also, since wife and I often/usually split even just a sandwich/burger (and still carry more weight than I prefer) - paying for two whole buffet's just doesn't match what we eat.
Did read a early review on NavarreBeachToday forum - that one said there were some kink's to workout. (tough to keep buffet food fresh, at right temps, stuff that is supposed to be crisp - crisp, etc.).
Cheers, Pete

You mean that dancing kid with the "Bayou Bob's" sign at the foot of the causeway on 98 is now unemployed?!

Lol!
Every time we drove by that kid my wife would marvel at his energy and wonder how many calories he burned a day!
